The 2019 Ram 2500 has been fully redesigned with a bold new grille and lighting layout, and it’s equipped with the latest high-tech driver aids and safety equipment. The 2500 is available in Tradesman, Bighorn, Laramie, and Limited trims, as well as the off-road specialist Power Wagon. With a choice of three cabs, two bed sizes, and two engines, you’ll be able to configure your 2500 just the way you want it.
Exterior
The 2500 comes with a two-door Regular Cab and an 8-foot bed, the four-door Crew Cab with a 6-foot-4 or 8-foot bed, or the extended Mega Cab with a 6-foot-4 bed. The new design gives the truck a dominant road presence and the available LED lights and adaptive front lighting provide a distinctive head-turning appearance.
A dampened tailgate and available power release enable easy access to the cargo area. For additional versatility and security, you can choose the Rambox cargo system with a 115-volt power outlet, available LED bed lighting, and power-deployable running boards.
The Power Wagon features a unique grille, powder-coated bumpers, off-road fender flares, tow hooks, skid plates, and unique graphics. It also has a winch with a 12,000-pound rating.
Power and Performance
Ram trucks are all about capability and the engine options for the 2500 will help you get any job done. The standard engine is 6.4-liter V-8 delivering best-in-class 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a smooth shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped you have a maximum payload of 6,600 pounds and the ability to tow up to 17,130 pounds.
You can opt for a 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel engine which produces 370 horsepower and an impressive 850 pound-feet of torque. The optimized electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission gives you responsive performance. With this unit, you have a payload of up to 5,730 pounds and a maximum towing capacity of 21,560 pounds.
For supreme off-road performance, the Power Wagon has gas-charged shocks for a smooth ride, locking differentials to give all the wheels equal torque, and an electronic front sway bar for when the going gets extreme.
Interior
Inside, the 2500 features high-quality materials from the durable and practical workhorse Tradesman to the luxurious 100 percent leather in the Laramie and Limited trims. Mega Cab models offer 43 inches of rear legroom and fold flat reclining rear seats.
An available 7-inch cluster display is model specific and has configurable gauges for component tracking. The reconfigurable center console is available with up to nine USB ports and wireless phone charging. For high-quality sound you can choose a 750-watt Harman Kardon 17-speaker audio system.
Safety Features
Available safety features include adaptive cruise control with stop, forward collision alert with braking, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, trailer reverse guidance view, and trailer tire pressure monitoring.
