It’s an ideal place for friends and family to gather. There is a small Veterans’ memorial in the park. You will also find a cute train-themed playground perfect for small kids. The park is adjacent to the Manassas Museum.

Signal Hill Park

Located on Signal View Drive, Signal Hill was from where, in 1861, Confederate observers spotted advancing Union troops and the Confederate response began the first Battle of Manassas. Today, the park provides a wide-open natural space for the enjoyment of everyone.

Walking trails meander through the park and there are sports fields and tennis courts. The pavilion, pond area, and cornhole area have picnic tables and grills, and these spaces can be rented for private parties. In the park is the Signal Bay Waterpark, for which there is an admission fee, with a leisure pool, slides, a lazy river, and water cannons.

Manassas National Battlefield Park

The Manassas National Battlefield Park commemorates and preserves the history of two significant Civil War battles fought there. Set in more than 5,000 acres, the park features beautiful woodlands, meadows and streams. Over 40 miles of hiking trails take you to the key areas of the battlefield and feature interpretive markers which describe the conflict.

For nature lovers, 168 bird species, 26 mammals, 23 reptiles, and 19 amphibian species have been recorded in the park. Catch-and-release fishing is allowed year-round at the four ponds in the park and along the Bull Run. The Brownsville picnic area offers a pavilion, picnic tables, grills, restrooms, and ample parking.

Cannon Branch Fort Park

Although there is no historical documentation about it, Cannon Branch Fort is thought to have been built around 1863 by union troops as part of the defenses to protect the railroad and supply lines. Today, the area is a wooded haven of tranquility where you can walk the path and see the remains of the fort’s earthworks.

Hemlock Overlook Regional Park
