Bull Run Regional Park
If you’re looking for a place where kids of all ages can enjoy the great outdoors, head to Bull Run Regional Park. Here you’ll find 1,500 acres of natural space and a variety of activities. For younger children, the park has miles of scenic hiking trails that offer the perfect opportunity to explore nature. You can also let them spend the afternoon at the playground. Older kids will love practicing their skills with a round at the disc golf course, and everyone will enjoy having a picnic at one of the shelters.
Manassas National Battlefield Park
Another great place to get outside and learn some history is at the Manassas National Battlefield Park. This park commemorates two different battles fought in the area during the Civil War. While at the park, children between 3 and 12 years of age can pick up their Junior Ranger activity booklet at the visitor center. Once they complete the activities in the book, they’ll be rewarded with a patch or badge. The park also has guided tours, living history demonstrations, and several kid-friendly hiking trails.

You can let your kids express their creative side with a visit to Peace of Pottery. This art studio is open to all ages and abilities. To get started, simply come in and choose which piece of pottery you want to paint. The studio has hundreds of options available, so everyone will be able to find something they like. The studio will then glaze and fire the pieces so you and your kids will be able to enjoy your masterpieces for years to come.
SplashDown WaterPark
When the temperatures soar and you need a place to cool down, head to SplashDown WaterPark. This exciting water park has something for everyone. Younger kids will have hours of fun splashing around at Sandcastle Kids Kove, which has a zero-entry children’s play area with bubblers, gentle fountains, and four pint-sized water slides. Older kids will have a thrilling time zooming down the park’s larger slides: Pipeline Tower, Cannonball, and Tropical Twister.
The Magic Putting Place
Kids young and old alike will have a fun time at The Magic Putting Place, which is a miniature golf course in Manassas that has 36 holes spread out over two 18-hole courses. If you decide to tackle the Magic Castle, you’ll enjoy challenges that include ponds, a sawmill, and a magic castle. On the Windmill Course, enjoy the shade of the large trees as you avoid the windmill obstacles.
