The Manassas, Virginia, area is filled with community and fitness centers that provide residents with aquatics, sporting activities, and even a place to meet socially. Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center

The Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center offers year-round programs and activities that are educational, social, recreational, and cultural. The center is designed to provide services for both individuals and groups, including those with disabilities. The center is located on the campus of George Mason University and is over 110,000 square feet in size. The center includes two pools, a family locker area, a full-service gymnasium, a whirlpool, cardio, aerobic, and strength training centers, a racquetball court, and a child care center.

Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center offers a wide range of programs and classes including fitness training such as pilates, yoga, conditioning, and strength training. They also offer multiple classes in water training such as swimming, aquatic aerobics, and lifeguard training. Classes are available for all ability and age range.

Pat White Center at Ben Lomond

Affectionately known as “The Barn” by area residents, the Pat White Center at Ben Lomond offers a variety of recreation programs and classes that are affordable for any budget. The center offers a wide range of children’s programs as well as multiple summer camps. Area youth can choose from camp themes such as “Want to be a Civil War hero” camp and “Civil War Advanced” camp. The recreation center also offers childcare services and a preschool program.

Manassas Park Community Center

The Manassas Park Community Center offers a wide variety of affordable amenities through membership options for teens, adults, families, and businesses. The center and pool are open seven days a week. The center includes many amenities such as a child care center and preschool, a pool facility with whirlpool, and a fitness area where you can enjoy cardio or strength training. The center offers personal trainers and coaching to members who have specific fitness wants and goals.

A basic membership includes access to the wellness area and admission to all exercise classes, including water classes. You also will enjoy a fitness orientation and assessment and two personal training sessions. The all-access passport membership will provide access to hundreds of classes, the kid’s corner, all amenities in the basic membership, daycare, preschool, league membership, and even swim lessons.

Community centers are a great way to get the family involved in the community and socializing with each other. They also can provide centers where you can stay in shape, enjoy some recreational fun, and take part in available enrichment classes.
